Web Sites Galore

I’m so excited…I’ve decided to channel my passion for writing into developing web sites with articles and links to great products and all sorts of great things. My first one is a continuation of my book, “Confessions of a Frog Kisser.” It’s called DateYourTrueLove.com, and is full of dating advice, quizzes, and more.

Check it out today!

What Kind of Gifts Would You Like?

So, I recently opened my store, Frog Kissers (unique gifts for fun chicks). In addition to my book, Confessions of a Frog Kisser, I’ve got two lines of cute gifts. One is the “Just Say No to Frogs” line and the other is the “Bachelorette” line.

Now I’ve got a question for my readers…what kind of products would you like to see? I’ve got so many ideas going through my head, I don’t know where to start. So I thought I’d start with you…tell me what you want, and I’ll make it!

The Dangers of Coffee

Or, perhaps, the dangers of setting a hot cup of coffee on the couch while you’re trying to type on the laptop.

Ouch.

I don’t think I’ll have third-degree burns on my backside, mostly because my husband has great reflexes and got me off the couch pretty quick. Boy did it hurt though. I probably deserved it, though…how dumb is it to put a 16 oz. mug of hot beverage on an unstable surface? When is someone going to invent cup holders for the couch. Yes, I have a coffee table, but it’s just so far to reach.

I digress, though. What I was doing right before the coffee incident was getting ready to post a blog about my new on-line store. Frog Kisser fans have been wanting more, so I’ve developed a line of fun gifts for the Frog lover in all of us. Check them out at the Frog Kisser store!

Happy Birthday Frog Kisser

Happy birthday to the Frog! It was one year ago that the book came out and all the wonderful insanity surrounding its publication ensued. It’s been quite a year, and I wouldn’t change a single thing about it.

To celebrate the one-year anniversary, I’m offering a special deal on signed copies of the book. From now until April 15 (a date selected for its pure randomness), you can get your very own signed copy of Confessions of a Frog Kisser for $10 (plus $4 shipping, should you require shipping). Just send me an e-mail for more details.

Thanks to everyone who has supported me for making this a fantastic year!

Good News (or Why Everyone Should Write a Book)

I can’t believe it’s been so long since my last post. My days have definitely been moving quickly, and I have been just a little bit distracted. I have a very good reason for my distraction this week: I got engaged on Saturday.

Everytime I say or write the E word I have to stop and let it register. This is not something I ever really expected. And to be engaged to an absolutely wonderful, kind, considerate, smart, funny, loving man who can cook and who my family ADORES on top of all that…well, it’s still a blissful surprise.

So how does my engagement tie in to my secondary title for this post? It ties in because I believe the reason Rick is in my life is because I wrote Frog Kisser. Although the book was a work of fiction, in writing it I was able to identify some of my unhealthy and self-destructive patterns in relationships, and was able to change them. Then, I travelled WAY outside my comfort zone and published the book…and that’s when the fun began. I set up a MySpace profile to publicize the book, and a few months later I got a message from a guy wearing a kilt. He seemed entertaining, and now I’m engaged to him. So, had I never sat down to record the events of my bachelorette party one February evening three years ago, I’m pretty sure I’d be in the same place I was back then. And, frankly, I like this place better.

That’s my story. I hear other stories from other writers who’ve put themselves out there and had nothing but good things happen. I have a friend who just told me she travelled outside her comfort zone by writing a short story in a genre she’d never considered before. And guess what…someone bought the story! That’s huge and wonderful news.

So pick up that pen or sit down and that keyboard and get writing. It’s worth every second of it.
